Bentley Systems to partner with public policy think tank

Public policy think tank, the Institute of Government & Public Policy (IGPP), has entered into a partnership with Bentley Systems, the infrastructure engineering software company, to establish a long-term relationship and synergy between IGPP’s areas of interest and Bentley’s expertise.

IGPP, an independent think tank based in the University of East London, and Bentley will facilitate the sharing of expert knowledge and information between the public and private sectors, as well as government departments, to influence and inform public policy across the supported communities. The partnership provides the opportunity for Bentley to access, co-design, and contribute to IGPP live events, research, resources, and share their unique insight and expertise with members and key stakeholders.

Mark Coates, Bentley’s director of strategic industry engagements, becomes a member of the IGPP Corporate Advisory Board, demonstrating Bentley’s commitment to improving how government is run and public policy is made. With Coates’s presence on the board Bentley is able to share knowledge with key stakeholders, helping inform the public policy debate from its experience providing innovative applications and services for the enterprises and professionals who design, build, and operate the world’s infrastructure.

Marc Davis, CEO of IGPP, said, “We are incredibly excited to have Bentley Systems come on board as a key partner and look forward to growing our relationship with them in the coming years. We are fortunate to be working with a company of their stature, expertise, and history. Their core values centred on their people and their commitment to improving quality of life are admirable and are areas which we look forward to positively contributing as we embark on our journey together.”

Coates commented, “As a global market leader of engineering software solutions that help industry partners design, deliver, and maintain major projects around the world, Bentley is honoured to be asked to help guide and promote the launch of the IGPP. In the new world in which we live, it’s important to underpin organisations, such as IGPP, to drive collaboration, connectivity, and, especially, clear communication among all sectors.

“Working with the esteemed members of the advisory panel, we hope to guide, support, and influence future public policy for both the industry and the country with a focus on more resilient, less expensive, and greener infrastructure systems.”
