On the move – key appointments continue in August

Network Rail has appointed two regional managing directors to lead the Southern and the North West and Central regions.

Ellie Burrows has been appointed as the permanent regional managing director for Network Rail’s Southern region. She has been in the regional managing director role for the Southern region on an interim basis since January this year.

Eastern region managing director Rob McIntosh has been appointed as the new regional managing director for the North West and Central region. He will move over to the region on September 4, and the recruitment process for a new Eastern region managing director is progressing well.

Atkins Nuclear Secured has appointed Mike Hughes to its board of directors as an outside director.

Hughes, who has 35 years of experience leading nuclear operations, will provide oversight for corporate activities and security compliance to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and strategy.

Prior to joining the ANS board, he supported the US Department of Energy (DOE) in developing the One System approach, creating consistent operational requirements across all contracts enabling performance tracking. The DOE deemed the approach a strategic-level best practice.

“Mr Hughes brings a wealth of expertise and experience leading nuclear operations, and I have no doubt his insights and guidance will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve our business,” said Jim Rugg, president, Atkins Nuclear Secured.

Archus, the healthcare infrastructure specialist, has confirmed two new appointments to its senior management team as part of continued growth.

Nicola Clemo has been appointed head of strategic advisory and Aidan Uniacke as operational associate director (Ireland).

Both are promoted from existing roles within the firm.

Clemo joined Archus in 2020 with a background in health infrastructure development covering healthcare planning and clinical strategy.  She will lead a team of strategic advisors in the delivery of clinical and transformation strategy which improves service delivery and health outcomes.

Uniacke joined Archus in 2022 with a background in project management and financial services, including large scale transformation projects. In his new role, he will be responsible for the ongoing growth and development of the Archus Ireland team and services.

Harley Haddow has further strengthened its sustainability offering with the appointment of a new associate director.

Stephen Gallacher has relocated from London to Edinburgh to join the multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, which he previously worked for earlier on in his career.

He brings with him more than 16 years of experience and will support the recently launched Building Performance and Sustainability division which was previously created to meet significant demand for net zero services, with representatives in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

Gallacher joins Harley Haddow from Introba and has worked on a wide range of projects in his career to date.

He has particular expertise in developing net zero and decarbonisation strategies, sustainability visioning and Passivhaus.
