Video: Matthew Bell, ceo of the Committee on Climate Change

Paris and the UK’s fifth Carbon Budget present key opportunities to get the UK on trak to meet it commitment on emissions, says Matthew Bell

"There is a lot of work to be done and some urgent action needed by the current government in order to put in place the policies that will allow us to be where we need to be by the mid 2020s."  says Committee on Climate Change chief executive Matthew Bell as he explains the challenge of Paris talks and the steps the UK must take to hit its 80% carbon reduction tagets by 2050.

"Paris is a step along the way," he adds, speaking at the recent EIC Annual Conference. "The advantage of the Climate Change Act in the UK is that we can make steady progress rather than the more expensive stop start approach."
