Amey names head of new consulting and rail business

Amey has announced Nicola Hindle as managing director of their newly formed consulting and rail business.

Chief executive Andy Milner announced Hindle’s appointment today. Since Milner’s appointment in April, he has created four new business units at Amey - utilities and facilities management, highways, consulting and rail and environmental services. The new business units consolidate Amey’s sector expertise and are aimed at providing greater opportunity for sharing best practice and providing integrated solutions.

Hindle will join Amey’s existing executive team along with James Haluch and Rob Edmondson as newly appointed managing directors of highways and environmental services respectively. Hindle joined Amey in 2005 and was finance director of the former consulting and strategic infrastructure division for the past eight years. That role saw her overseeing all financial responsibilities including the division’s mergers and acquisition. Prior to joining Amey, Hindle held roles at AEAT, Bookham Technology and the Co-op.

Commenting on her appointment, Hindle said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for our business. We’ve got some ambitious targets for the future and I am looking forward to working with my team and colleagues to deliver world-class services that generate tangible benefits on behalf of our customers.”

Andy Milner said: “I have worked closely with Nicola for the best part of a decade and she will play a valuable role in the executive team. Her focus, dedication and commercial expertise is a perfect fit to grow our consulting and rail businesses. Working with Lee Jones, director of rail and Dave Spencer, director of consulting and international, she will undoubtedly continue to strengthen the business.
