Murgatroyd new head at Interserve’s transport group

Former Balfour Beatty rail director moves to Interserve

Ex-Balfour Beatty rail director Kevin Murgatroyd has joined Interserve as its new sector director for transport.

Guy Bruce, managing director at Interserve, said: “Transport is an important sector for us and Kevin brings with him a wealth of industry experience. His vast knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in helping our transport clients to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

Murgatroyd spent nine years at Balfour Beatty Rail, most recently as director and general manager of Balfour Beatty’s rail plant and rail civils divisions.

In another potential senior development, Callum Tuckett is understood to be exiting Laing O’Rourke for a major new contracting role. Tuckett worked closely with former chief executive Anna Stewart’s, who stood down recently for health reasons.

If confirmed, it will be another serious blow for Laing O’Rourke, which also recently lost infrastructure managing director Gary Wells.

Tuckett joined Laing in 1992 and after its acquisition by R O’Rourke & Son in 2001, held various senior positions including managing director of Laing O’Rourke Construction UK, commercial services director for Europe, and commercial director for the firm’s Middle East and South Asia division.
