Louis Berger appoints James Rousell as new UK managing director

US consulting giant Louis Berger has appointed James Rousell as vice president and managing director for the UK

The appointment coincides with the official opening on 10 November of Louis Berger’s new international headquarters in London following its relocation from Paris. As the leader of the $1bn global professional services corporation's UK operations, Rousell will be responsible for growing the business as well as preparing, implementing, and delivering operating plans for the UK to ensure efficient operations, project delivery and financial performance. 

Commenting on Rousell’s appointment, Tom Topolski, president of Louis Berger’s international operation, said: “James brings a robust and successful track record of developing and overseeing broad business development operations. His expertise preparing, implementing and delivering business development and strategic sales strategies, maintaining and ensuring client networks, and supporting strategic and major pursuits is well suited to support Louis Berger’s business development goals for Europe.” 

In September, Louis Berger announced that it was relocating to London as part of a major restructure that will see the firm target the UK infrastructure market. 

Prior to joining Louis Berger, Rousell enjoyed a 15 year career with Jacobs in a range of senior business development positions successfully growing the infrastructure business in the Middle East, Australia, North Africa and existing UK market. Previously, he worked in environmental management for the Ministry of Defence and private waste management companies. .

Rousell, a chartered waste manager and environmentalist, will be based in Louis Berger’s London office in Richmond and report to Jesper Damgaard, Louis Berger senior vice president and managing director for Europe.
