Brittle, who will be based in the company’s Chancery Lane office in London, has over two decades experience in the military and security solutions sectors and will head up a team of security and intelligence specialists at WSP.

He joins the company following a number of high-profile roles, including head of security consulting at Atkins and head of security solutions and critical infrastructure protection for EMEA with Honeywell.

Initially, he will focus on supporting the design teams at WSP and their clients in the property and infrastructure sectors to develop cost effective solutions to security and risk management issues. Long term, the aim is to guide WSP’s security business into new areas and sectors to increase company growth.

Commenting on his new role, Brittle said: “WSP is a forward thinking company where I’m witnessing first-hand the outstanding work we do in the built environment. Already I am engaged with clients on a wide range of projects from stadiums to critical infrastructure, providing threat and risk analysis as well as developing security concept plans through to full detailed design and support. I look forward to helping our clients and company have secure environments in which their businesses can thrive safely.”
