The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) and the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) have appointed Dave Campbell as their new director of membership services.

He will take up the post on October 2 and joins ACE and EIC from construction industry organisation, Build UK.

Campbell will play a pivotal role in helping implement the ACE group blueprint – an action plan outlining key ambitions until 2025. Launched last year as a compass for the organisation, it is focussing on critical areas such as social value, innovation and excellence.

He will also champion the infrastructure and built environment sectors, enabling ACE to promote the views of its members across the industry and to government. 

Campbell will also support and engage with ACE’s 400-plus members who employ more than 60,000 people in the UK and 250,000 around the world – helping them achieve their ambitions. 

While working at Build UK, Campbell led the secretariat function for two specialist construction trade associations and a training group. 

Most recently he led Build UK’s skills policy and engagement work. 

Campbell brings a wealth of experience working in built environment-focused trade associations, with a track record of delivering membership growth and engagement strategies that cements member value at the heart of a membership organisation. 

Stephen Marcos Jones, chief executive of both ACE and EIC, said: “Dave is an experienced leader, with a career spanning 14 years in membership and representative organisations. 

“He also has knowledge of working in and with national and global organisations to reach diverse audiences through engaging content, events, campaigns and systems to provide a cutting-edge membership proposition.”

The appointment follows the announcement that Ian Parker, ACE’s group commercial director, will be retiring from his role on November 30.

Campbell’s appointment comes as ACE has reshaped its commercial director role to focus predominantly on leading recruitment, engagement and retention strategies across both ACE and EIC.
