What makes us special

Now in our 25th year, BWB has a growing reputation as a good employer and great place to work. We’re extremely proud of our Best Companies ‘One Star’ accreditation and Investors in People Gold Standard. We deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions for complex and challenging projects and are renowned as one of the UK’s largest owner-managed development consultants, working for many of the UK’s best known developers on high profile projects

We’ve won the prestigious ACE/NCE Consultant of the Year Award 4 times in the past 5 years and were awarded the ACE Diamond Award of Engineering Excellence in 2015 for showcasing an innovative sustainable model of best practice and winning the Project Design category by distinguishing itself as a trailblazer in careful and sensitive design, with both the natural and built environments working together.

Corporate social responsibility

Our focus on “putting something back” centres on supporting charities in the UK and abroad who make a real difference to peoples’ lives. We actively support WaterAid and RedR because they leverage, in a highly effective way, engineering expertise to make life-saving and life-changing interventions in the communities in which they work.

We also support community initiatives and charities closer to home, with all activity initiated and co-ordinated by our People and Society Group volunteers.

Green credentials

BWB is an ISO14001 accredited company that takes pride in not only the sustainability of our activities but also the sustainability of our designs. A number of our projects have been designated BREEAM and CEEQUAL Excellent

Corporately we have taken steps, through our Environmental Management Systems, to measure and reduce our carbon footprint, reduce the need to travel and, through investment in technology, increase opportunities for remote collaborative working.

Inclusion and diversity

BWB is an Equal Opportunities Employer whose corporate values are underpinned by applying the principles of integrity, trust and fairness in everything we do. We are committed to effective engagement with our people and this is recognised in our Best Companies One Star accreditation and Investors In People Silver standard.

25% of our fee earners are female and, whilst this is better than most of our competitors, we are seeking to steadily improve this.
